Evanston WY Politics is committed to accuracy, transparency, and fairness in everything we publish.

This page outlines the key policies that guide how we create, share, and attribute content on this website and our social channels.
These standards help ensure our coverage remains factual, accessible, and nonpartisan.

⚖️ Content Attribution & Video Use Policy

About Our Video Content

Evanston WY Politics produces original coverage and summaries of local civic meetings and community events.

From time to time, we also include short video excerpts or highlights from publicly available government sources — such as recordings from city, county, state, or federal agencies, and national public feeds (including C-SPAN and official legislative channels).

These clips are used solely for informational and educational purposes, to help highlight specific moments or topics discussed by public officials — for example, remarks from a senator, representative, or local department leader during an official meeting.

All such materials remain the property of their original producers.
When we use excerpts, we clearly identify the source agency and provide a link to the full recording whenever available.

Our goal is to increase accessibility and civic understanding by presenting accurate, factual context — never to alter or misrepresent original statements or footage.

🔍 2️⃣ Neutrality & Accuracy Policy

Our Commitment to Neutral Coverage

We summarize public meetings, legislative updates, and community issues in plain, factual language.
Our goal is to make local government more understandable — not to persuade, editorialize, or advocate.

We verify all content against official sources such as city, county, and state publications, and we include citations or links wherever possible.

We do not endorse political candidates, campaigns, or advocacy organizations.
All sources are selected based on relevance to Evanston and Uinta County public life, not political affiliation.

💬 3️⃣ Community Standards & Moderation Policy

For Online Discussions

Civility is our first rule.

Our Facebook group and comment spaces are moderated to encourage respectful, fact-based discussion of local issues.
Posts or comments that include personal attacks, misinformation, or off-topic debate may be removed to keep the community productive and welcoming.

Everyone is welcome to participate — the goal is a better-informed, more connected Evanston.

🧾 4️⃣ Privacy & Data Policy

Visitor Privacy

We do not collect personal data beyond standard website analytics (such as traffic counts and device types).

Email addresses submitted through contact forms or subscriptions are used only for communication from Evanston WY Politics and are never sold or shared.

Analytics data is used in aggregate to improve our website’s performance and accessibility.

⚖️ 5️⃣ Corrections & Updates Policy

If We Get Something Wrong

Accuracy matters.

If we publish incorrect information, we will issue a correction or update as soon as the error is verified.
